BSF regrets to announce the passing of founding member and Director, Steve Marcus, Ph.D.

It is with deep sadness and regret that we announce the passing of BSF Board member, Steve Marcus, Ph.D. Steve was a founding member of the Society in 1978 and has served continuously on the Board of Directors, and in various other capacities since then.

Steve was the self-appointed and Board endorsed “sergeant-at arms”, and a beloved fixture at BSF conferences along with his career-long professional partner, Mike Rothburd, Ph.D. Steve and Mike were known for their intelligent and often humorous commentary that livened our BSF workshops.

FMRI NF SHOWS PROMISE IN TREATING HALLUCINATIONS IN SCHOPHRENIA

Results of a study published in Translational Psychiatry show that schizophrenic subjects who experienced auditory verbal hallucinations (AVH) and who were trained to down-regulate the superior temporal gyrus with fMRI NF had significant reductions in AVH.

Mission Statement

The Biofeedback Society of Florida (BSF) was founded in 1978 to facilitate the exchange of ideas, methods, research, clinical experience, and applications of biofeedback with related disciplines. Today the Society is the official Florida affiliate of the national Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, and serves a diverse professional fraternity of health care providers and academicians who share an interest in applied psychophysiology and biofeedback.

BSF provides networking, continuing education, legislative action, and practice and technical consultation for its membership. Providers seeking information about adding biofeedback to their clinical practices are invited to contact BSF.

BSF also functions as an information and referral source for consumers who are considering biofeedback services.
