About Mike Rothburd, PhD

Michael Rothburd, PhD was a founding member of BSF and served as the first president of the fledgling organization. Mike remained active in the Society for almost four decades. In addition to being a gifted and compas-
sionate clinician, Mike was knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the emerging field of biofeedback and acted as the de facto technical advisor for the Society. Mike had a wry sense of humor and could always be trusted to bring some levity to our meetings. Mike passed away in December, 2018 and the Society has developed an award to honor his spirit and innumerable contributions to the BSF.

Mission Statement

The Biofeedback Society of Florida (BSF) was founded in 1978 to facilitate the exchange of ideas, methods, research, clinical experience, and applications of biofeedback with related disciplines. Today the Society is the official Florida affiliate of the national Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback, and serves a diverse professional fraternity of health care providers and academicians who share an interest in applied psychophysiology and biofeedback.

BSF provides networking, continuing education, legislative action, and practice and technical consultation for its membership. Providers seeking information about adding biofeedback to their clinical practices are invited to contact BSF.

BSF also functions as an information and referral source for consumers who are considering biofeedback services.
